Moon Time is a poem by Debra Hall. May it land in all your bodies.

Debra Hall is an artist-poet with a degree in English and Inter-Arts, specialising in using creative and expressive arts therapeutically. She has taught creative writing and Batik making as a community arts tutor and completed facilitator’s training with Survivor’s Poetry Scotland. She’ also a trained rites of passage guide in the Scottish Highlands in the tradition of the School of Lost Borders.

00:00:10: This is Radically

00:00:11: Alive Women's H-Cast.

00:00:44: this November.

00:00:47: That is our next raw immersion where we spend a few days in person together for each woman to meet herself differently and to in

00:01:19: synergy with the earth, trees birds creatures and insects.

00:01:26: Time was the cycles of the moon The seasons And the patterns Of the stars.

00:01:32: In their vastness It engendered balance and wonder Invented by our foremothers The first shamans Who tended the hearthfires A measure of soul.

00:01:52: The women nodded and smiled to each other as they notched their rhythm.

00:01:57: sticks made from birch wood, a woolly mammoth bone.

00:02:02: Like spiders at the centre of a miraculous web They pulled each fine filigree into place while the mycelium in the loam beneath them Made a million meaningful connections Above their heads carved along the curve of cave wall, The body of a woman who became known as the Venus of Lausel.

00:02:29: One hand pointed to her womb and the other held up a bison horn notched thirteen times for the natural years thirty moons.

00:02:40: For twenty five thousand years almost every image and carving Of this sacred was Woman.

00:02:48: Hierarchy didn't exist.

00:02:51: Weaponry and wars were unimaginable, culture art and love flourished.

00:02:59: Nothing about their discerning wisdom or our need for it has changed.

00:03:06: The women stayed faithful to time's pulse some as nomads Some intimate with one place For the whole lives.

00:03:16: Until those grandmothers And elders Their axes shifted, all separation ceased.

00:03:25: The earth became them and they became the

00:03:29: Earth.".

00:03:35: Imagine

00:03:35: that you could become so radically alive... ...that you would create not only life but also the culture which comes through your being is designed to create.

00:03:50: this is what?

00:03:51: this age cast is about.

00:03:53: This is what the age cast aims to inspire in you as we listen right now, and it could be a daunting thing.

00:04:01: And daunting isn't just a problem.

00:04:03: Daunting simply means... It's new!

00:04:06: It's scary…and why not do so anyway?
